Water proofing membrane and decoupling
Water proofing Membrane
The waterproofing matting is a waterproof, vapor retardant and crack-bridging sealing membrane made of a polyethylene film laminated on both sides with fleece. Thickness: 1/64″ (0.5 mm), resistant to ageing and alkali, non-rotting, resistant to aqueous solutions of acids, alkalis and salts. Tested and approved by the german building authorities (AbP) and ANSI A118.10. Avoid prolonged, intensive exposure to sunlight during storage.
Decoupling Mat
Mat for decoupling and bonded sealing of tile coverings. The decoupling mat is made of polypropylene (PP) with a vulcanised grid on the top and a backing fleece (also made of polypropylene) on the back. Due to this composition, the mat is resistant to mostchemicals (e.g. salts, acids, alkalis, solvents and oils). In chemically highly stressed areas of application, however, it is advisable to check the chemical concentration, temperature and exposure time before using the mat. In conjunction with tiles, the mat acts as a decoupling and crack bridging agent. It enables a vapor pressure equalization in case of back-value moisture. The upper floor covering is decoupled from the subfloor. In addition, small cracks in the substrate are bridged and not transferred to the tile covering. This makes it particularly suitable for renovation work , FCI300 is tested in accordance with ASTM C627-18:
Note: fuma FCI mats are unsuitable for laying thin floor tiles („slim tiles“, e.g. 5/32″ [4 mm]) due to load-bearing reasons. There is a risk of breakage here. In addition, small-format tiles smaller than 2″ x 2″ (50 x 50 mm) must not be used.
